Moto G4, G4 Plus Gets a New Android Nougat Firmware Update
A few weeks ago, we’ve talked about the Moto G4 and G4 Plus to get Android 7.0 Nougat update, and now this mid-range phone of Motorola is getting a new firmware update on its new Android Nougat OS.
The Moto G4 and G4 Plus was receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat treat but not yet the Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The update brings quite a series of changes for the midrange phone with a number of features including a better Doze mode, data saver, and Work Mode.
Android Nougat firmware update comes with build number NPJ25.93-11 for both of the G4 and G4 Plus. In fact, those who have a Moto G4 with model XT1624 and Moto G4 Plus with model number XT1643 are enabled for the update.
This minor update allow Moto G4 and G4 Plus users to restore the stock firmware for Android Nougat. The update has started to be rolled out, but not every device has been getting the update yet. It is also said that the firmware can be installed manually using Fastboot.
As for the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update, even though there is no specific time and date for the latest Android OS release, the two smartphones are expected to have the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update this 2017. It could be around Q1 or Q2 2017.
Unveiled as midrange phones of the Motorola, the Moto G4 and G4 Plus were first coming with Android Marshmallow out of the box. These two smartphones have been making a great way towards the Android 7.0 Nougat OS update.
