Sony Xperia X Concept receives Android 7.1.1 update
Back in November 2016, Sony announced that the Sony Xperia X would be the first smartphone that is compatible with the company’s “Concept” build of Android. And they also rolled out the first “Concept” Android build for the Xperia X. Basically these Concept builds are nothing but the experimental builds and those are meant to give people a way to test new software. In simple word the beta program. 😀
And now the Sony Xperia X has become the first phone, besides the Pixel and Nexus devices to get Android 7.1.1. The latest update Android 7.1.1 Nougat Maintenance Release 1, is said to have build number 38.3.A.0.41. Company has started sending out another update for the Xperia X Concept firmware, and the big deal about it is that it’s now based on Android 7.1.1 and not 7.0.
There are several new features and bug fixes and lots of new improvements in this update. One of the big new feature include the restart button just like Google Pixel. Other improvements is faster startup for the camera app, and the update also include December 1st security patch. In addition Sony has also added PlayStation 4 PS4 Remote Play with this release.
Take a note here that, this update is not rolling out to all Sony Xperia X devices. But if you live in Europe then you can enjoy the update just head to the Google Play Store and install the Concept Installer for your Xperia X. This specific release requires you to be on the “Experimental” release track.
And before you install update make sure that you take a back of the device in case anything goes wrong. Stay tune to Amaziness for more update.
