Weekend Reading: Microsoft Weekly 61 (May 8 – May 14)
Welcome back to another exciting Microsoft weekly, where we are about to go over the top stories of the past week in the world of Microsoft and its product. This is weekly is highly focused on the Build 2017 event. In this Microsoft weekly we have news about Build Fall Creators Update, Fluent Design Language, Story Remix, iTunes in Windows Store, Azure apps and more. So here we go!
Fall Creators Update
At Build 2017 Microsoft announces the next major update in the Windows 10. The Fall Creators Update aka the Redstone 3 is expected to roll out in September 2017. Fall Creators Update is packed with lots of new features and enhancements over the last public version which is Creators Update. It includes My People app, New Timeline feature, Story Remix app, Fluent Design Language and much more. Windows Insiders will soon get these new features in upcoming insider preview builds.
Windows Story Remix & Timeline
The Windows Story Remix is an Universal Windows Platform app which will allow you to edit your videos so easily. The Windows Story Remix app will have an ability to switch up the automatically created videos based on data. In order to create a elegant story the app uses Microsoft Graph to automatically create Memories from your photos and videos. The all new Timeline feature would make it easier to keep track of things on which you are working on.
Fluent Design Language
Fluent Design Language is the new design language from Microsoft. It basically contains 5 elements of design system: Light, Depth, Motion, Material, Scale. The new design language will work on all Windows 10 devices and offers a similar experience. The Fluent Design Language will feature a fluid user interface that sports smooth motions and transitions throughout all of the UI components. iTunes in Windows Store
Apple to bring the iTunes to the Windows Store soon. Right now it’s not clear that how Apple will bring the iTunes to Windows Store. Maybe they could use the Project Centennial and port their win32 app directly to the Windows Store or they could use Project Islandwood to port their iOS app to the Windows Store and make UWP app. We’ll soon hear more information about it in upcoming month.
With the announcement of the intelligent chat-bots in Skype, Bing and Cortana, Microsoft also released the Azure apps for the iOS and Android platform. With the all new Azure mobile app user can manage their Azure Cloud and more. In addition the Azure Mobile app also have integration of the Azure Cloud Shell.
