Xiaomi Mi 5 Flagship to Receive Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update

Xiaomi Mi 5 is the 2016 flagship from the Chinese OEM where the phone together other flagships such as Mi 5S, Mi Note 2 and Mi MIX making the name of Xiaomi high-end specs and affordable smartphones.

The Xiaomi company should be one of the most popular smartphone brand in the past few years in Asia, especially, towards the budget phone market. The company seems quite busy now with the software update for Android OS – here is with the new Android Nougat OS.

As we’ve mentioned in the list of Xiaomi phones to get Android Nougat update, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is on top of that list. This flagship phone with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, and has been update to the Android 7.0 Nougat. Now, the smartphone giant seems to have another plan for the Mi 5 – get a new update for Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Still, there is no official announcement about the update for the Mi 5, but the leaks on Geekbench seems to see Xiaomi Mi5 appeared with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. If that leak is to believe then the latest Android Nougat will soon to come on Mi 5.

Following the Xiaomi Mi 5, the next successor to this phone is Mi 6 which will be released in the coming weeks. Still, there is no specific time of the launch yet. The new Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to have Snapdragon 835, 4GB of RAM or might be 6GB. The price tag is a little higher than the Mi 5according to the rumors.
